Off to the Beach in Two Hours

I haven't been able to update my blogs lately because I have been really busy. Of course, there's the Holy Week, my son's 7th birthday, and we've been preparing for our out of town trip. We'll be going to the province of Zambales, in the town of Candelaria. We're going back to Potipot Island! It's been so long since we last went there, 3 or 4 years ago. The first time we visited the place, it was my son's (Sef) first time to go to the beach. It's 1 o'clock already, and we'll be leaving in two hours. I opted to stay awake and just sleep through the trip, since I have a lot of writing works to do. I will blog about the trip, I promise. I want to share my new experiences in the beautiful island of Potipot. I just love the place! :)

Summer Swim at Villa Antonina

My family, together with our closest friends went to Villa Antonina last week, a resort located in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, so that our kids could swim and have fun together. It's the first among the summer outings we'll be having this year. The resort was nice, the villa we stayed in had a cottage 'feel' to it, it had four swimming pools all in all, and most of them were shallow, so no worries about kids drowning, and there were lifeguards on the watch, particularly on the kiddie pool. It was fun, and the kids had a blast, which is the purpose of the trip.

The kids splashed us water whenever we get near them.

Ice Cream + Swimming = Fun!

My youngest son loves the water.

Ready, set, slide!

Daddy's Art Class

My Sons, Miguel and Sef, are so obsessed with computer and PS2 games. Whenever I would prevent them from playing, they would walk around the house, doing nothing, saying things like, "I'm bored", or, "boring!". Aaaah! Kids nowadays! Whatever happened to tumbang preso and patientero? Video games are definitely causing old school street games become extinct. Because my husband and I wanted to divert my kids' attention from video and online games, we decided to buy art stuffs, so that my hubby can teach the boys how to paint. FYI, they love to draw already, we're trying to enhance the talent that they already have. Hubby knew how to paint, since he's an artist himself (Architecture Undergrad, but a very talented all-around designer and builder). If you have kids at home, make their summer more meaningful and educational by enrolling them in an art class, sports lessons (swimming, tennis, basketball, taekwondo), dance class, singing class, acting class, and a few more other classes. If you are hesitant about spending, or if the classes available near you are too expensive, you can teach them yourselves, just like what we're doing.
Let's Paint!

A Welcome Note

Welcome to my new blog, aptly titled, 'Ramblings of a Writer-Mom', since I ramble [ram-buhl - to talk or write in a discursive, aimless way] a lot, I write for a living, and I am a mom. Let me introduce myself first, my name's Tin, I'm married with two kids, both boys. I am not new to blogging, I have other blogs, but I can't to have myself post daily adventures with my family there because I felt they were not the right venue for them. So, instead, I created this blog, where I could go on and on about the daily happenings in my life. Please join me in my life's journeys, and hopefully, more colorful adventures.
